Caribbean Dumplings Recipe for Soups

I recently shared my favorite "Split Peas Soup" recipe in my previous blog. Here is the recipe as promised for the dumplings that I added to the soup. It is a very easy recipe and only requires 3 ingredients.

Ingredients

2 cups of flour

1 -1 1/2 cup of luke warm water

2 tablespoons of sugar

1 pinch of salt

Prep:

Add the dry ingredients into a bowl

Mix

Slowly add water while mixing

Until it forms a large dough

Making the Dumplings

On a dry surface, sprinkle some flour

Remove dough from bowl

Place it on the floured surface

Knead the dough into a smooth ball

Pull apart 2 inch pieces and roll into

the palm of your hands to form small balls

Place them on a plate

Repeat this step until all the dough has been used.

When to add the dumplings to the soup?

When the vegetables and meat are fully cooked

in the soup, add the dumplings one by one

Cook on low fire for an additional 10-15 minutes

or until the dumplings are fully cooked

The dumplings will pick up the flavor of the soup.

Enjoy!
